Shape the Future of Local Transit: Now Seeking Members to Join the TDLCB!

Are you passionate about making Brevard County more accessible for everyone? The Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization (SCTPO) is currently seeking civic-minded individuals to fill three primary membership positions and two alternate positions on its Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board (TDLCB).

Open Positions Include:
  • Person over Sixty Representing Elderly of the County – Primary Member

  • Citizen Advocate – Primary Member

  • Citizen Advocate – Alternate

  • Citizen Advocate Representing User of the System – Primary Member

  • Citizen Advocate Representing User of the System – Alternate

Why Your Voice Matters

The TDLCB plays a vital role in ensuring reliable transportation opportunities are available to all residents, regardless of age, ability, or income. The board focuses heavily on the needs of older adults, persons with disabilities, low-income individuals, and children at risk.

Member Responsibilities include:
  • Identify local service needs and to provide information, advice, and direction to the Community Transportation Coordinator (CTC) on the services to be provided to the transportation disadvantaged population.
  • Assists in establishing eligibility guidelines and trip priorities.
  • Evaluates the performance of the CTC.
  • Review and approve various documents, such as the Transportation Disadvantaged Service Plan.
  • Review strategies and seek innovative ways to improve cost effectiveness, efficiency, safety, working hours and types of service within the county.
  • Time commitment: Approximately 1.5 hours quarterly, serving 3-year term membership
