Overview
The Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization (SCTPO) works collaboratively with elected officials, technical experts, community representatives, and partner agencies to guide transportation planning in Brevard County.
The SCTPO Governing Board and its advisory committees review transportation plans, evaluate projects, and provide recommendations that help shape the regionβs transportation future. Public participation is encouraged throughout the process to ensure community needs and priorities are reflected in transportation decisions.
π SCTPO Governing Board
Role: Primary decision-making body for regional transportation planning.
Membership: Elected officials representing Brevard County and its municipalities.
The Governing Board establishes transportation policy direction and approves major plans, programs, and prioritized projects for funding consideration.

β Executive Committee
Role: Provides additional oversight and policy review.
Membership: Board Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and up to two at-large board members.
The Executive Committee reviews transportation policies, procedures, and programs in greater detail and provides recommendations to the full Governing Board when needed.
Advisory Committees
Advisory committees provide technical expertise, community perspectives, and specialized input to support the transportation planning process.
π Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)
Focus: Technical review and professional expertise. | The TAC is made up of representatives from local governments, transportation agencies, and partner organizations who review transportation plans, studies, and projects and provide technical recommendations to the Governing Board.
π₯ Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC)
Focus: Community representation and public input. | The CAC represents the voice of Brevard County residents by providing feedback and recommendations on transportation plans, programs, and project priorities.
πΆ Bicycle, Pedestrian & Trails Advisory Committee (BPTAC)
Focus: Active transportation and trail connectivity. | The BPTAC reviews plans and policies related to bicycling, walking, and multi-use trails and provides recommendations that support safe and connected active transportation networks.
π Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board (TDLCB)
Focus: Accessible transportation services. | The TDLCB works to ensure transportation options are available for individuals who may face mobility barriers due to age, disability, or income, and provides guidance on the Transportation Disadvantaged Service Plan.
Public Participation
Community input is an essential part of the transportation planning process. Residents are encouraged to attend meetings, provide public comment, or volunteer to serve on an advisory committee.
